Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal

The Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal is located along the St. Lawrence River Seaway and the junction of Highway 401 and Highway 416. The communities of Cardinal and Spencerville, as well as numerous rural hamlets, form the backbone of this township. Historic sites, schools, recreational facilities, parks, and community businesses and organizations provide opportunities for people to experience an excellent quality of life. Attractions include the Spencerville Mill and Battle of the Windmill National Historic Site.
The Prescott-Ogdensburg International Bridge spans the St. Lawrence River at Johnstown and provides easy access to the United States. The township's deep-sea port, the Port of Johnstown, and grain elevators connect it commercially to the North American Great Lakes and the world. The Canadian National Railway (CNR) line runs through the township.
