Town of Prescott

Prescott 1784

Prescott is called "Fort Town" for being home to the historic Fort Wellington. The town features the Sandra S. Lawn Harbour and Marina, considered a top boating destination on the St. Lawrence River, and the St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival. This summertime sensation presents lively, accessible professional, theatrical productions in a beautiful outdoor amphitheatre overlooking the river each July and August. Fort Wellington National Historic Site and the Battle of the Windmill are open to visitors from May until October.

Some of our community's larger businesses include Kriska Transportation, one of the country's best-managed companies and Riverside Pontiac Buick. Ltd. Prescott is a transportation and logistics hub in the region because of its proximity to Highways 401 and 416, the Prescott-Ogdensburg International Bridge and the deep-sea Port of Johnstown. This town is also home to the Prescott Industrial Park. The downtown main street area, which is a host to several restaurants and shops has seen a significant revitalization over the past few years.
