Town of Gananoque
Gananoque is the Gateway to the 1000 Islands. It boasts both UNESCO World Heritage and National Geographic designations within the Frontenac Arch Biosphere. Visitors can enjoy any number of outdoor activities such as kayaking, fishing and hiking along waterfront trails. It has a thriving downtown core for shopping.
Gananoque has several light manufacturing operations and businesses. Tourism is a major focus for Gananoque because of its location just off Highway 401 in the heart of the 1000 Islands Region. The small town has stunning 18th century historical buildings, museums, holiday attractions, a wide selection of accommodations, and the famous Thousand Islands Playhouse. The Shorelines Casino Thousand Islands and Gananoque Boat Line attract thousands of visitors from around the region and around the world. A major manufacturer is Cardinal Health.
