- A deep-water Port of Johnstown is a premier intermodal hub on the St. Lawrence Seaway. It has a 465-metre berth (1,525 feet) and 7.7 hectares (19 acres) of wharf and storage area. The Port is served by rail and major highways. A bypass access road allows for the shipment of height-restricted, over-sized cargo. Cargo moved through the Port by truck, rail and ship now totals more than 1.2-million tons a year.
